My
background

For 20 years I have been working with creative methods for dealing with conflicts and socio-political issues.

The task of building bridges to promote understanding runs through my life.

My international work

I have been fortunate to work in many languages and different parts of the world (Guatemala, Cambodia, Myanmar, Nepal, Nicaragua, Ukraine). I have worked both at grassroots level and with government representatives as well as for organizations of different sizes (employed and self-employed). I have immersed myself particularly deeply into the culture of Nepal. As a result, I do speak Nepali and have received many suggestions to question my “western thinking”.
As a peace facilitator, I was able to learn a lot about conflict dynamics as well as power and discrimination through the approaches of mediation and forum theater. Later, I led a project on dealing with the past and the social integration of former guerrilla fighters.

To this day, these experiences have nurtured my deep confidence that people can transform conflict situations.

My work in Germany

Based on my international experience, I now work freelance on conflict situations in Germany and offer supervision and coaching. I also give workshops to prepare peace workers and seminars for students of peace and conflict research. For several years I have been leading the group Playback Theater Berlin, with which I regularly perform and moderate performances for the dialog project Linii.
